We have 2 seasons around here, Winter and Construction.

I used to think Winter was the time when you're most likely to get rear-ended due to fools who drive around on poorly inflated balding all-season tires on ice. But not today.

Damned construction leads to bumper-to-bumper traffic. It's a miracle I got home unscathed.

Yeah, so sometimes I feel like listening to Christmas music when it's nowhere near Christmas.

The good thing about Traditional Trinidadian Christmas Music ("Parang") is that it does not sound like normal Western Christmas Music. You can listen to it openly and most people don't know what it is because Parang is in Spanish, but sung with a Trinidadian accent by people who don't actually know Spanish (who learned it from other people or records sung by others who did not know Spanish.)

I was at this Comedy Club this evening, and one guy in the audience started causing some trouble with some other guests. It was this black guy in the back who would not calm down and shut up during the show, and other patrons were complaining.

The bouncer stepped in and the guy started getting really angry at him, calling him a racist and some other names. I'm guessing that this wayward patron was kicked out, as I didn't see him there later. Either way, he must have been drunk or high or stupid or something, as the bouncer was also black.

I've had my CostCo AmEx for about a week now and this must be the most shiny and pretty piece of plastic I've ever laid eyes on.

This is probably just one of their ploys to make you want to use the card and keep you thinking about it. I just like looking at it because of the hologram magstripe. But damn, I bet there are people out there who just come up with excuses to use it so they can show it off.

The way I see it, Nature/God/Whatever gives most everyone's brain a roughly equal amount of what I shall call "computational bandwidth."

One of the main ways each individual differs from another is into what mental capabilities this "bandwidth" is distributed.

Things like diseases or genetic defects and reduce the amount of bandwidth available to any one person. And in other exceptional cases, true geniuses have a lot more bandwidth than normal folks like you and me.
